This drawing, attributed to Leonardo, depicts a beautiful young woman looking downward. Her distinctive headband highlights the hair braiding above it and the long tresses of hair below. The drawing closely resembles the head of the Virgin in Andrea del Verrocchio's Virgin and Child, c. 1470. This is possibly a copy of the head by Leonardo. Close observation of the drawing reveals several changes and uses of different mediums, making it hard for experts to agree on authenticity.
